Architecture and material
Light surfaces, understated details, airy volumes and an aesthetic that leaves room for light, calm and the quality of dwelling.
Casa Spanu was born from a long history, layered over time and shaped by continuity, sensitivity and roots. Its identity is not only architectural: it is a way of welcoming, of narrating beauty and of giving spaces a living character.
Every room is designed to preserve the charm of tradition through an essential, contemporary and refined perspective.
Casa Spanu interprets luxury as balance: harmonious proportions, authentic materials, natural light, quiet comfort and a sincere relationship with time.
Light surfaces, understated details, airy volumes and an aesthetic that leaves room for light, calm and the quality of dwelling.
A discreet, personal welcome designed for guests seeking a distinctive stay free from excess.
The phrase “our gold is not the gold of the common crowd” (often cited in Latin as Aurum nostrum non est aurum vulgi) is an alchemical motto, also attributed to Arnaldus de Villanova, which distinguishes true initiatory research from the desire for material wealth. It suggests that alchemical gold is an inner spiritual transformation, not the physical precious metal sought by the masses.
The gold “not of the crowd” represents spiritual perfection, wisdom or the Philosopher’s Stone, achieved through the transmutation of “lead” (the impure person) into gold (the enlightened person).
The motto emphasizes the difference between material wealth, which is fleeting, and inner knowledge, which is eternal, often using cryptic language to conceal the spiritual nature of the work.
It refers to the process of Solve et Coagula, the decomposition and purification of matter, or of the soul, to free it from impurities and transform difficulties and weaknesses into resources.
